Our Patron
Baroness Sue Miller, patron of the Water Saving Association, is a Liberal Democrat Member of the House of Lords.
Nominated as a Life Peer in 1998, she became Party Spokesperson in the Lords on Environment, Agriculture and Rural Affairs and took a lead for the Party on dozens of Bills including the Countryside and Rights of Way, Energy , Water , Natural England and Rural Communities , Animal Welfare and the Hunting Act.
Today she is Chief Lord's Spokesman on Home Affairs where she continues to show interest in civil liberties issues.
She strongly supports the UK's effort to reduce carbon emissions and combat climate change, stating: "We are trying to make the Government accept that real carbon reductions must happen in the UK. Our amendment, which we won, would limit the amount of carbon reductions the Government can buy from overseas and claim that we have met our target by doing so. Climate Change is a real problem and needs real action here in the UK".
The Water Saving Association (WSA) was formally launched at the 2008 Waterwise Conference in Oxford.
The WSA was formed in order to bring together companies that are committed to the very highest standards when supplying water-efficiency products and services to consumers and businesses. This will bring reassurance to customers and will provide a unique platform for sharing expertise and ideas regarding water saving in the UK.
The members of the Water Saving Association are all determined to support UK water users to understand the real value of water and the simple steps required to conserve it.
